2006-10-16 - 11:04 a.m. All the hard work at the 9 to 5 seems to paying off. I've gotten a few "you're an asset"s in the past couple of months and was just told I've gotten another raise! Yippee. Another thing I'm excited about is Firefly airing on UniversalHD tv, but that's beside the point because I don't have the channel or an HDtv. Also because we weren't talking about my dork fangirl fascinations. So the big project at work is nearly over, but I hear we've gotten the client to sign on for another year so that's promising. In the meantime, I've totally backed off from doing stuff with my department, which I think is sad. But I'm with them in spirit. And I'm totally on their winning bowling team. I've put a lot of thought into my Halloween costume this year. Mostly because I'll be on crutches and won't really be cogent (let's hear it for Demarol!) So I'm going as Lisa Turtle from the Saved By The Bell episode entitled "Dancing To The Maxx". In the episode, Lisa's dreams of wowing the country on a televised dance competition are ruined by a sprained ankle. Her stand-by monkey Screech takes her to the competition anyway and they win the contest with a new dance called "The Sprain." No, I will not be going in blackface. You're sick. And new news on the fam front. Mom, Dad, my brother and sister-in-law are all coming into town next weekend! Cory and Erin for her work, and they'll return to Denver on Monday. Dad'll go back to teach his class on Tuesday. Mom will stay with me for the surgery and a couple days after that. I'm so glad she's trying to get over her anxiety of all things new and be around for me. I was going to be really depressed and crying all day if she wouldn't have been there. I'm going to show her where the Ralph's is and let her run wild. All my friends are being super cool. I've told them to come visit me at home during the week. It'll be nice to be off work, even if it means pain and expense. On a side note, I hate pledge drives. Oooh, I wanna get a whole lot of new music for when I'm laid up. Starting with the new Bonnie "Prince" Billy album-The Letting Go. I am less than fluid today, so I'll just stop. Peace.
